Sabrina Hernandez Cano is a Registered Dietician, Nutrition Counselor, and Certified Diabetes Educator who graduated from Florida International University with a degree in dietetics and nutrition, and trained at Cleveland Clinic Hospital and Palm Springs Hospital. Sabrina received the Miami Herald Silver Knight Award for dedication in community service. She completed mission assignment in Africa, Guatemala, Honduras, and Mexico City, focusing on alleviating child malnutrition and hunger. She has worked as a Cardiovascular Nutrition Educator for the Miami Cardiac and Vascular Institute at Baptist Hospital. She worked for Berkley Heart Lab as there clinical educator and served as President for the Miami Dietetic Association from 1999 to 2000. She was also voted the Greater Miami Dietitian of 2000 by the Miami Dietitian Association.
She has appeared on ABC News, Telemundo, Univision, and WLRN-TV for
segments on nutrition, wellness, and diabetes. She is also the co-author of the book The Empty Cup Runneth Over and Miami Breast Cancer Experts, books that gives expert advice on the subject of breast cancer. She is a member of the American Diabetics Association and the American Diabetes Association and the American Dietetic Association. In 2005, she served as the International Speaker for Baptist Hospital on the topic of “The Roll of Diet and Nutrition in Preventing Cardiovascular Disease. Currently, Sabrina specializes in bariatric nutrition and is the CEO of Hummingwell, a wellness bar or meal replacement made with balanced nutrition designed to promote a healthy lifestyle. She has been specializing in Bariatric and Diabetic patients. She recently co-author with her friend Cindy Papale-Hammontree a book title Experts in Pink.
