​Dr. Peter Korn is a Plastic Surgeon practicing in Long Island, New York since 2008. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and specializes in breast reconstruction surgery, microsurgery, and aesthetic procedures of the face, body, and breast. Combining meticulous attention to aesthetic principles with the technical skill-set of sophisticated reconstructive procedures, Dr. Korn is recognized by patients and colleagues for his exceptional outcomes in aesthetic and reconstructive surgeries alike.

Dr. Korn, a renowned expert in breast reconstruction, offers the full spectrum of implant and natural tissue-based techniques, to serve every patient with tailored, individual treatment options. Dr. Korn has successfully performed more than 1,500 DIEP flap and other microsurgical breast reconstructions, making him nationally and internationally one of the most experienced surgeons in performing DIEP flap procedures. He pioneered innovative procedures, such as the fleur-de-lis TUG flap and PAP flap, extending the option of natural tissue breast reconstructions to women who are not ideal candidates for DIEP flap reconstruction. He was the first to perform TUG, PAP, and SHAEP flap surgeries on Long Island, and to teach these procedures to his peers.

Dr. Korn has earned distinction in facial rejuvenation procedures, such as facelift, and eyelid rejuvenation (blepharoplasty), as well as in breast reduction, breast augmentation, and body contouring surgeries. He is often trusted and chosen by medical doctors and their family members as their plastic surgeon of choice. Dr. Korn works to achieve each patients’ aesthetic goals while providing balanced and natural appearing results by using the most contemporary surgical techniques and customizing his approach to the individual.

Training
Dr. Korn completed his training in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at the combined program of Cornell and Columbia Universities / New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Furthermore, he gained expertise in surgical oncology and cancer related reconstructive surgery at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. He completed his training in General Surgery at Cornell University / New York-Presbyterian Hospital. Born and raised in Munich, Germany, Dr. Korn received his doctorate degree Magna Cum Laude at the University of Vienna.

Academic Leadership
Dr. Korn has authored multiple articles in leading surgical journals. He has presented his work at numerous conferences, and has been invited to teach his technique to Plastic Surgeons at national and international meetings. He was the honorary recipient of the Dicran Goulian Award for Academic Excellence. He was the recipient of the President’s Award of the Northeastern Society of Plastic Surgeons. He was Assistant Professor of Surgery at the New York Medical College, and the Chief of Microsurgery at the Westchester Medical Center. He is currently Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell

Dr. Korn is also an accomplished concert-level flutist and pianist. He studied classical music at the conservatories in Hamburg and Vienna and has performed in numerous concerts.
